Count Your Blessings

I try to practice an "attitude of gratitude" every day by reflecting on things that I am thankful for. I find that I have a more positive outlook on life when I take time to think about things for which I am grateful. Being that it's November and we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving in a couple weeks, I decided that I would include a list of the many things that I am thankful for, in no particular order.
  • I am thankful for my continued good health (both physically and emotionally) and the fact that I am able to maintain a healthy lifestyle by exercising regularly, eating healthy foods and spending quality time with family and friends.
  • I am thankful that I have successfully transitioned into my new position as a Communications Manager and I'm looking forward to the many challenges that the position has to offer.
  • I am thankful that my parents have finally sold their house on the Central Coast of California. It's been a challenging year with my dad working in Oregon and my mom staying behind in California to take care of things with the house. I am hopeful that they will both feel more settled as 2011 begins.
  • I am thankful that my brother, Andy, has moved back to the Bay Area and that we are able to see each other on a regular basis.
  • I am thankful that I was able to travel to San Diego in October with my brother to see the New England Patriots play the Chargers. It was a great weekend get-away.
  • I am thankful that I have expanded my circle of friends, both at work and socially.
  • I am thankful that I was able to go to several of San Jose Sharks playoff games earlier this year, and I am thankful that I have already gone to several games this season. Go Sharks!
  • I am thankful that my parents will be able to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas with me in the Bay Area this year.
  • I am thankful that I live in a nice apartment - my "home sweet home."
  • I am thankful that I have a reliable vehicle which provides me with safe transportation.
  • I am thankful for being financially savvy and living a comfortable life without being in debt.
  • I am thankful for the opportunities that I have to volunteer and help those that are less fortunate.
  • I am thankful that despite suffering tremendous heartbreak earlier this year, that I am healing and looking forward to finding the "love of my life" in the very near future.
  • I am thankful that I am able to live in Northern California and take advantage of all the wonderful things that the Bay Area has to offer.
What are you thankful for? Take some time today to think about the many blessings in your life.

If you look to others for fulfillment,
you will never truly be fulfilled.
If your happiness depends on money,
you will never be happy with yourself.
Be content with what you have;
rejoice in the way things are.
When you realize there is nothing lacking,
the whole world belongs to you.

Wishing you a wonderful week.
